Peniaphobia was ridden forward from a wide gate to settle one off in second behind the leader Imperial Champion, burst to the front three deep at the 150m and proved too classy. Late-plunged favourite, Imperial Champion went straight to the front from gate one, cornered a half-length on top and found one too classy while just holding on in a blanket finish for the minors. My Name Is Bond eventually found the rail's worse than midfield at the 800m, straightened three deep and ran on nicely to just miss a Quinella spot. Tour De Force travelled fore of midfield and one off the rails, shifted off heels with three wider out at the 200m and stayed on reasonably well to just miss a placing. Newcomer Romantic Touch was still last and widest out at the 250m before charging to the wire to just miss the frame. He appears a nice find for the stable and will be picking up a race over 1,200m or 1,400m in no time. Gurus Dream came with good move from near the back. He's capable but always troubled by soundness issues. Smart Man was ridden cold from the widest gate, angled five-to-six deep at the 200m and ran on all right without menacing. Early favourite Exciting Dream never fired a shot from behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (102)-AMBER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Metres

GORGEOUS DEBUT lost ground when badly crowded for room on jumping between BEST ELEVEN which was taken out by IMPERIAL CHAMPION and TOUR DE FORCE which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by GORGEOUS DEBUT.

From wide barriers, GURUS DREAM and SMART MAN were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When being shifted to a position behind EL ZONDA approaching the 1100 Metres, EXCITING DREAM proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse.

After this, EXCITING DREAM continued to travel keenly.

Near the 850 Metres, EXCITING DREAM (D Whyte) raced in restricted room between MY NAME IS BOND and SICHUAN VIGOUR which shifted in.

D Whyte reported that after this incident EXCITING DREAM did not travel comfortably and, in his opinion, raced "flat".

A veterinary inspection of EXCITING DREAM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 650 Metres, MY NAME IS BOND was momentarily crowded for room inside TOUR DE FORCE which got its head on the side and lay in.

Near the 100 Metres, SMART MAN was shifted to the outside of TOUR DE FORCE to obtain clear running.

Over the concluding stages, GORGEOUS DEBUT raced tight inside IMPERIAL CHAMPION.

In the Straight, ROMANTIC TOUCH lay out under pressure and proved difficult to ride.

PENIAPHOBIA and IMPERIAL CHAMPION were sent for sampling.

GENERAL:

The following horse was replated in the saddling stalls: Race 10: GORGEOUS DEBUT (right hind)

The Stewards today interviewed Mr L Ho, the trainer of HEARTLAND, which competed in batch 3 of the Official Barrier Trials conducted on the All Weather Track on Friday, 17 October 2014, Mr C M Mak, assistant trainer allocated to Mr Ho's stable, and Jockey Y T Cheng who rode HEARTLAND in this trial, regarding the circumstances of the blinkers/hood coming loose in the early stages of the trial.

It was ascertained that when being fitted, it became apparent to Mr Mak that the blinkers/hood did not fit properly and therefore he made the decision to remove one of the two fastening straps used to secure this piece of equipment.

Jockey Cheng advised that shortly after the start this piece of equipment came loose, resulting in the horse being temporarily blinded.

He said when HEARTLAND commenced to prove very difficult to manage approaching the first turn, he pulled the piece of equipment back over the horse's head which also resulted in the bridle coming loose albeit the bit was able to remain in the horse's mouth.

He added that due to the difficulties he was experiencing, he was obliged to ease down HEARTLAND in the Straight.

Mr Mak was advised that a full report into the circumstances of this matter would be forwarded to the Stables Management for their consideration.

Mr Ho was advised that, given the circumstances, no action would be taken against him in respect of this matter.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 15 October 2014 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of SLEDGE HAMMER, KINGSTON JUMBO, CULTURAL CITY, CRUISE CONTROL, GLORIOUS RYDER, COMMANDANT, DARK SECRET, PALEPALE, GRAND PLUS, HEARTS KEEPER, CONFUCIUS ELITE, SUPREME FRESH, HORSE APLENTY, CARTOON FAY FAY, LOVELY BOY, SIGHT BELIEVER, GUN PIT and HYPERSONIC revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of GOLD PRECIOUS, MIGHTY GAINS, SLEDGE HAMMER, HELLA HEDGE, UNBEATABLE GUTS, WINNING INSTINCT, LUCKY HAMMER, EXECUTIVE MANDATE, TRIUMPHANT DRAGON, LA COTE DE BLEU, VERDANE, CULTURAL CITY, EXPEDITE, CONFUCIUS ELITE, KING OF HOUSEHOLD, SIGHT BELIEVER, CALLING WITH LOVE, DOMINEER and TURIN PEARL (8.10.14) proved negative.
