Recap by phillip woo

Brilliant Shine settled three deep with cover in midfield, swung the final bend with two wider out and quickened well to out-bob Dining World for a third straight victory. Dining World bided his time second from the rear from a wide alley, rounded the final bend six deep and rattled home to make it a thriller on the wire with a drop in class. Favourite Full Talent made his run fourth along the fence, moved to the front 150m out and was swamped close to home. Ho In One made his run third from the rear from an outside draw, swung the final bend with one wider out and closed off nicely to grab a First-4 spot. Romantic Touch travelled one off behind midfield but was unlucky not to have gotten closer when checking off heels at the 400m and steadying off the eventual winner at the 150m. Strathearn made a nice bid late down the far outside after being ridden cold from an outside alley. He's naturally coming to hand. Sichuan Exec held his ground after travelling one off fore of midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (166)-PANASONIC IP CAM HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

HO IN ONE and STRATHEARN bumped at the start.

After this, STRATHEARN was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Shortly after the start, PHOTON WILLIE was steadied away from the heels of TELECOM BOSS which was taken in by SICHUAN EXEC.

Making the turn after the 900 Metres, WINNING INSTINCT and BRILLIANT SHINE raced tight as a result of WINNING INSTINCT getting its head on the side and shifting out.

After the 900 Metres, BO DUKE was left racing wide and without cover.

Rounding the Home Turn, SICHUAN EXEC and BO DUKE bumped as SICHUAN EXEC shifted out into clear running.

DINING WORLD was unable to obtain clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 400 Metres was steadied away from the heels of ROMANTIC TOUCH which was shifted to the outside of BO DUKE into clear running.

PHOTO WILLIE also had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and again for some distance after the 200 Metres.

Passing the 200 Metres, ROMANTIC TOUCH was directed to the inside of BRILLIANT SHINE which shifted out under pressure.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on STRATHEARN at the request of Trainer A T Millard.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, STRATHEARN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of SEA DIAMOND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
