Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (084)-WOODPECKER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Metres
LUCKY OMENS and VANILLA began only fairly.ANTICIPATION shifted out at the start and bumped SECRET WEAPON.
SUPREME PROFIT and GLORIOUS LAD bumped on jumping and then shortly after the start SUPREME PROFIT was steadied after racing tight between RENAISSANCE ART and GLORIOUS LAD.
REGENCY KING began awkwardly, got its head up and then shifted in, resulting in ENSURING being inconvenienced.
ENSURING was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages from its wide barrier.
After initially being ridden along in the early stages from the outside barrier, RED DANCER was shifted across behind runners a short distance after the start.
ANTICIPATION was ridden along in the early stages to obtain a forward position.
Passing the 1400 Metres, SAVVY NATURE was crowded for room inside TRAVEL FIRST (W M Lai) which shifted in when not properly clear.
W M Lai was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground.
Passing the 1200 Metres, GLORIOUS LAD was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 750 Metres, SAVVY NATURE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRAVEL FIRST.
VANILLA, which was following SAVVY NATURE, was hampered in consequence.
At the entrance to the Straight, ISHVARA raced close to the heels of REGENCY KING.
Then after being held up for clear running behind REGENCY KING, ISHVARA shifted out in an attempt to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped the hindquarters of ANTICIPATION.
TRAVEL FIRST had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
SAVVY NATURE was held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres and then passing the 200 Metres after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of REGENCY KING was shifted out away from the heels of that horse to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection of RENAISSANCE ART and SAVVY NATURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ISHVARA immediately following the race confirmed the horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
SECRET WEAPON and TRAVEL FIRST were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

Race 10 was put back 10 minutes.

Addition to Racing Incidents Report from 1 October 2015 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 9 (73) For a short distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, both GIANT TREASURE and EXCITING DREAM had some difficulty obtaining clear running.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 1 October 2015 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of HOUSE OF LUCK, BRILLIANT MONKEYS, DALWARI, ASHKIYR, REAL GENEROUS, FORTUNE GIGGLES, FABULOUS ONE, JOLLY JOLLY, NONE OTHER, METALLIC STAR, POPPING CANDY, SENSATION, ALWAYS WIN, NOT LISTENIN'TOME, SUPER JOCKEY, THE SHOW, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT, CONTENTMENT, GIANT TREASURE, BLIZZARD and GO BABY GO revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of SMART UNION, FRESH AND FRESH, COUP D'ETAT, RISING POWER, WIN CHANCE, SPARKLING SWORD, KITAYA, MELLIFLUENT, LOVELY NAUGHTY, STAR OF WAI BO, TEN FLAMES, JOYEUX, EXCEL ONESELF, GENERAL IRON, BLOCKER DEE, FORMULA WON, WIN IT, SPEEDY LONGWAH, BORN IN CHINA and DIVINE BOY (23.9.15) proved negative.

Favourite Secret Weapon finished strongly with two wider out after travelling three deep with cover behind midfield to take control 200m out with a step over his preferred mile distance. Travel First ran on nicely five deep to grab second 150m out following a prominent run along the rail. Glorious Lad kept on nicely four from the right after a no-cover run worse than midfield to grab a placing. He was suited by a step up in distance and will get further as well. Ensuring travelled second from the rear, shifted into the open with three wider out at the 200m and finished well to fill a Quartet spot carrying top weight. Anticipation tracked the speed one off the fence in third, moved to second approaching the final bend and was one-paced over the final 150m. Savvy Nature didn't have time to get his momentum going after pulling off the tiring heels of Regency King 100m out following a rail's run in midfield.
