Hard Ball Get came on nicely two from the right after travelling fifth from the rear to take control 100m out following a downgrade. Both his wins have come in this class but he is capable of a big race in the higher grade. Silly Buddies pressed forward out wide to park second at the 700m, assumed the lead 300m out and wouldn't go down without a fight in a vastly-improved run. He's finally hit a bottom following a 28-point drop in the handicaps this term. Plunged late to start favourite, Bossiee came on nicely from behind midfield to fill a placing. He returned to the grade at the top of his game following a laststart win and should remain competitive when next stepping out. Early favourite Merrygowin had his chance following a prominent run and came up flat inside the last 150m. He's still young and needs to strengthen up. Good Method ended up with the front to himself at the 880m after sharing the early lead with Real Deal and weakened in the last 100m. He's not genuine. Jolly Amber stayed on better following a midfield run in his best performance from seven starts. He looks and feels a nice sort but it's only a matter of time and experience with him.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (644)-THE CHEUNG CUP (HANDICAP) (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1400Metres

M REBORN began only fairly.

Shortly after the start, CHIU CHOW KID was bumped by G-ONE UNION which was in turn taken in by REAL DEAL.

From a wide barrier, HARD BALL GET was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Near the 1350 Metres, REAL DEAL and MERRYGOWIN bumped.

For a considerable distance approaching and passing the 1100 Metres, CHIU CHOW KID proved very difficult to settle and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of MERRYGOWIN.

When proving very difficult to settle, CHIU CHOW KID shifted in passing the 1000 Metres and made contact with BOSSIEE.

After this, CHIU CHOW KID continued to prove very difficult to settle when racing behind MERRYGOWIN and making the turn at the 900 Metres was bumped by BOSSIEE which shifted out away from the heels of JOLLY AMBER.

In this incident, G-ONE UNION, which was racing outside CHIU CHOW KID, became unbalanced when bumped by that horse.

SILLY BUDDIES travelled wide and without cover until after the 700 Metres.

Near the 650 Metres, HARD BALL GET was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of G-ONE UNION.

For the major part of the race, CHARITY KINGDOM travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

CHARITY KINGDOM lost its right front plate after the race.

A veterinary inspection of CHARITY KINGDOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, O Doleuze stated that due to CHIU CHOW KID over-racing in the early and middle stages, the horse was then not able to close off the race.

A veterinary inspection of CHIU CHOW KID immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, CHIU CHOW KID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

BOSSIEE, HARD BALL GET and SILLY BUDDIES were sent for sampling.
