Recap by phillip woo

Takingufurther held off the late burst of Junzi after hitting the front passing the 150m following a pace-stalking run to salute at his fourth start. He was able to back-up a good run last start. Junzi finished strongly one from the right after settling fifth from the back. He relished a return to the Valley 1,200m after positive runs in two of his past three Sha Tin starts. Odds-on favourite ucky Thought kept grinding away following a box-seat run to finish a non-threatening third. He has ability but is still learning. Blooming Spirit was just out-duelled for a placing following a one-out one-back run. He's heading in the right direction now following positive efforts in back-to-back runs. Super Eighteen ran on without menacing from near last. He can produce an odd good run now and then but is limited. Cheer Win had every chance following a rail run in midfield. He's likely better on a track with some give. E Star made no impression from the back in his initial Valley run.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (677) - DORSET HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

On arrival at the Start, BLOOMING SPIRIT, which lost a tooth, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed fit to race.

DR LUCKY STAR began only fairly.

BRAVE COMMAND, which began only fairly, became unbalanced shortly after the start when bumped by JUNZI.

E STAR shifted in at the start and bumped HURRICANE HUNTER.

E STAR and HURRICANE HUNTER were then shifted across behind runners.

Also from the outside barrier, SUPER EIGHTEEN was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

Near the 950 Metres, LUCKY THOUGHT got its head up when travelling keenly.

Approaching the 800 Metres, BLOOMING SPIRIT was checked away from the heels of TAKINGUFURTHER.

Passing the 200 Metres and again approaching the 100 Metres, LUCKY THOUGHT and BLOOMING SPIRIT raced tight.

Near the 50 Metres, HURRICANE HUNTER initially raced tight inside SUPER EIGHTEEN and then was brushed by that horse which lay in under pressure.

Close to the finishing line, HURRICANE HUNTER and CHEER WIN bumped.

Passing the winning post, LUCKY THOUGHT was awkwardly placed outside the heels of TAKINGUFURTHER.

A veterinary inspection of E STAR immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg.

Before being allowed to race again, E STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

LUCKY THOUGHT, TAKINGUFURTHER and JUNZI were sent for sampling.
