Recap by phillip woo

Post-time favourite My Ally just held off Looking Good by a bob of the heads for the win despite wandering out late after quickly finding the front from an awkward gate to give rider Alfred Chan Ka-hei his first Valley success. He was able to back up a good run last Wednesday. Looking Good stayed on strongly following a one-out one-back run to make it close on the wire. He racing very well but keeps finding one or a couple too good in five of his past six starts. Jenerator ran on a non-threatening third after getting crunched going for a gap between runners 300m out following a midfield run on the fence. He has been building towards a win over this course in recent runs. Chefano ran on well from behind midfield to fill a Quartet spot. It was a nice effort in his first start under trainer John Moore and he may be able to show his true colours next season. All You Know produced only a grinding effort following a one-off run in midfield. He's not genuine.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (784) - PAK SHA O HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

RACING LUCK was withdrawn on 2.7.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter JADE FORTUNE (K C Leung).

Before being allowed to race again, RACING LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

BEAR AGAIN was checked when badly crowded for room on jumping between CHEFANO and SUMSTREETSUMWHERE which, after shifting in abruptly at the start, became unbalanced after making contact with BEAR AGAIN and shifted in further despite the efforts of its rider.

In this incident, BEAR AGAIN was taken in onto the hindquarters of CHEFANO which was then crowded for room between BEAR AGAIN and ALL YOU KNOW which was taken out by LOOKING GOOD.

From wide barriers, HAR HAR HEART, STARSHIP and JOLLY HONOUR were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, BEAR AGAIN was checked away from the heels of JADE FORTUNE.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, MY ALLY got its head up on a number of occasions when being steadied in the lead.

Passing the 1200 Metres, ALL YOU KNOW was awkwardly placed behind LOOKING GOOD which was steadied to obtain cover behind SUMSTREETSUMWHERE.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, BEAR AGAIN was checked away from the heels of JADE FORTUNE.

At the entrance to the Straight, JENERATOR and ALL YOU KNOW raced tight as JENERATOR attempted to shift out into tight running between ALL YOU KNOW and LOOKING GOOD.

This resulted in JENERATOR being awkwardly placed outside the heels of LOOKING GOOD after the 300 Metres.

MY ALLY shifted out under pressure after the 200 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of HAR HAR HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MY ALLY and LOOKING GOOD were sent for sampling.
