Recap by phillip woo

Street Scream was too good after hitting the front 200m out despite never being on the track three wide fore of midfield from gate 12. The writing had been on the wall in two prior placings from similar outside draws. Take What You Need stayed on gamely for second after going forward from a tricky gate to chase the leader Ares. He did win two back in Class Five and has proven form at this level. Melbourne Hall came from towards the rear with one wider out to fill a placing. He's always a chance over this course. Harmony N Home ran on reasonably well to fill the frame after getting held up rounding the final bend after settling third last from a wide draw. He's a winner waiting to happen at this level from a better draw. Favourite Amigos Giggle produced just a grinding effort after a one-off run better than midfield. It was a shade better effort following a stable change. Island Surprise ran on without menacing from the rear of the field. He went OK trying the Valley 1,200m for the first time. King's Trooper was running on late down the outside when the race was all but over after settling second last from a wide draw. He's better suited in Class Five.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (578) - MATHESON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

MIRACLE VICTORY shifted out at the start and inconvenienced MEDIC ELITE.

MELBOURNE HALL and AMIGOS GIGGLE bumped on jumping.

MELBOURNE HALL was then bumped by SUPER KINGDOM which shifted out.

TAKE WHAT YOU NEED shifted out at the start and hampered ISLAND SURPRISE and KING'S TROOPER.

After this, from wide barriers, ISLAND SURPRISE and KING'S TROOPER were shifted across behind runners.

From a wide barrier, HARMONY N HOME was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

ISLAND SURPRISE made the turn after the 1000 Metres awkwardly.

Approaching and passing the 900 Metres, MIRACLE VICTORY got its head up when travelling keenly.

Near the 900 Metres, NORDIC COMBINED (L Hewitson) lost ground when reluctant to maintain its position inside AMIGOS GIGGLE which shifted in.

After the race, L Hewitson reported that NORDIC COMBINED, which was having its only third race start tonight, was reluctant to race amongst other runners and then was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off.

A veterinary inspection of NORDIC COMBINED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 550 Metres, HARMONY N HOME got its head up when racing close to the heels of MEDIC ELITE.

For the majority of the race, STREET SCREAM travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, C L Chau reported that after travelling well throughout the race, MIRACLE VICTORY initially gave him a good response when placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight.

He said however that the response was somewhat limited and MIRACLE VICTORY was then disappointing in the manner in which it weakened over the latter stages.

A veterinary inspection of MIRACLE VICTORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of ARES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

AMIGOS GIGGLE, STREET SCREAM and TAKE WHAT YOU NEED were sent for sampling.
