The phrase Ngo sik jim do gwo nei sik mai, meaning you have “eaten more salt than they have eaten rice”, spiced up conversations online after it made a controversial appearance in the new Marvel superhero film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Liu was born in Harbin, China, and immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of five. This 30-year-old actor is best known for his role as Jung Kim in the Canadian TV sitcom Kim’s Convenience.
