Friends Of Nanjing was patiently ridden third from the rear from a wide gate, fanned into the open with two wider out coming to the final bend and finished willingly despite laying in late to wear down the smart People's Knight 50m out for a third straight win from four starts despite a rise in class. He's got further improvement to come. Favourite People's Knight was caught deep without cover in a prominent spot from a wide gate, moved to second 500m out, hit the front 300m out and found one smarter in the end. He remains one to follow. Radiant Bunny bided his time fifth from the rear and one off the fence, switched into the open with three wider out at the 300m and finished off nicely for a placing. Super Fluke got going widest out from the rear of the field to fill a Quartet spot. Vara Pearl stayed on all right following a prominent run along the fence. He's a winner waiting to happen with a return to Class Four. Presidentparamount kept grinding away without menacing after a very deep run without cover beyond midfield from a wide gate. Plunged late, Raging Bull gave up the chase passing the 200m after failing to lift following a speed-tracking run. Beauty Connection was gone 250m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (589)-AUDEMARS PIGUET LADY MILLENARY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

The start was delayed when WINNING STAR proved difficult to load.

The barrier manners and performance of WINNING STAR, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, WINNING STAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SOCCER BRAVE began awkwardly and lost ground.

From the outside barriers, FRIENDS OF NANJING and SUPER FLUKE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

RAZOR QUEST and LOTUS BREEZE bumped at the start.

When being steadied to obtain a trailing position, LOTUS BREEZE commenced to prove difficult to settle and after the 1300 Metres got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of RAGING BULL.

BEAUTY CONNECTION lost its left front plate in the early stages.

Passing the 650 Metres, WINNING STAR was bumped and taken wider by FRIENDS OF NANJING which improved to the outside of RADIANT BUNNY.

At the 500 Metres, RADIANT BUNNY was momentarily crowded for room between FRIENDS OF NANJING and FURIOUS PEGASUS.

After the 300 Metres, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT raced tight inside FRIENDS OF NANJING which shifted in marginally under pressure.

PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT then raced tight against LOTUS BREEZE approaching the 200 Metres and a short distance later got its head on the side and shifted out away from LOTUS BREEZE and bumped RADIANT BUNNY.

T Berry (PEOPLE'S KNIGHT) dropped his right rein when he changed his whip into his right hand passing the 300 Metres.

Throughout the race, PEOPLE'S KNIGHT and PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT travelled wide and without cover.

The performance of FURIOUS PEGASUS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

After the race, J Moreira stated that, in his opinion, RAGING BULL did not handle today's track conditions.

A veterinary inspection of RAGING BULL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY CONNECTION immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained small cuts to the inside of the left hind cannon and right hind pastern.

FRIENDS OF NANLING and PEOPLE'S KNIGHT were sent for sampling.
