Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Vanilla got going 500m out after travelling nicely one off behind midfield to get up 60m out in a track record time for a seventh career win and third in a row from 17 starts on this surface. He's running out of options on this surface. Plunged late, Giant Turtle shook off King Genki holding the fence on the lead but found one too good in the end in a solid first run on this surface. The dirt is now a viable option for him and the mile would be more to his liking. King Genki ran another genuine race punching the breeze from a wide gate in a swiftly run race to come up third best for a third placing from four starts on this surface. He needs an easier test. Lotus Strikes Back closed off well after settling second from the rear for the most part to fill a Quartet spot. He rarely runs bad races but doesn't have too many points in hand. Divine Boy made a steady bid without menacing after travelling third from the rear following a sluggish break. He's better suited over the 1,650m. Sky King never ran on from near the back. He's likely on or near his mark.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (597)-ARTS IN THE COMMUNITY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Metres

PACKING GENIUS began only fairly.

TRAVEL FIRST dipped on jumping, shifted in and bumped RED ELYSEES which in turn shifted in and bumped DIVINE BOY.

After this, both RED ELYSEES and DIVINE BOY were shifted across behind runners.

Making the turn just prior to the 700 Metres, GREEN DISPATCH shifted in, brushed the running rail and became unbalanced.

A short distance later, GREEN DISPATCH and RED MARVEL raced tight inside TRAVEL FIRST which shifted in marginally when placed under pressure to maintain its position.

A veterinary inspection of RED ELYSEES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

The performance of RED ELYSEES, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, RED ELYSEES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, O Doleuze stated that SKY KING never travelled on the bridle during the race and consequently did not finish off the race.

He said he was not able to offer any explanation for the horse's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection of SKY KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of TRAVEL FIRST and RED MARVEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

VANILLA and GIANT TURTLE were sent for sampling.
