Recap by phillip woo

Equal-favourite Seasons Bloom quickened strongly to take control 50m out despite being posted three deep the whole way travelling with and without cover at times behind midfield. Helene Paragon found one too good on this day after scooting to the lead 100m out after recovering from a tardy break to settle behind midfield on the fence. He's on target for the HK Mile. Beauty Generation reclaimed the lead 300m out after easing back to sit box-seat and kept on gamely for a placing. He did not disgrace at set weights and will remain competitive in the up-and-coming mile majors. Fancied to jump a co-favourite Beauty Only finished well down the outside after travelling third from the rear to just miss a placing. He's gone well in two of three outings this term and Tony Cruz could have him peaking in three weeks. Sichuan Dar stuck on reasonably well after travelling third from the rear despite being badly handicapped.

Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the Start, it was noted that SICHUAN DAR had blood in the mouth.

SICHUAN DAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that the horse was suitable to race.

HELENE PARAGON began only fairly.

From wide barriers, CIRCUIT LAND and JOYFUL TRINITY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1550 Metres, WESTERN EXPRESS was awkwardly placed outside the heels of BEAUTY GENERATION which shifted out when being ridden along to obtain a forward position.

After the 1200 Metres, GIANT TREASURE was left racing wide and without cover and passing the 900 Metres was ridden along to obtain a position closer to the rail.

For some distance approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, BEAUTY GENERATION got its head up when being steadied to allow WINNER'S WAY to cross.

Approaching and passing the 900 Metres, SICHUAN DAR proved difficult to settle and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of HELENE PARAGON.

Near the 800 Metres, BEAUTY GENERATION got its head up when being checked away from the heels of WINNER'S WAY as GIANT TREASURE improved around the outside of BEAUTY GENERATION.

As the Stewards were satisfied that BEAUTY GENERATION had not fully established running to the outside of WINNER'S WAY at the time that GIANT TREASURE improved to its outside, no further action was taken.

After the 800 Metres, JOLLY BANNER travelled wide and without cover and then approaching the 500 Metres was taken wider still when BEAUTY GENERATION shifted to the outside of GIANT TREASURE.

Passing the 300 Metres, JOLLY BANNER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of HELENE PARAGON (T Berry) which, when being ridden along, got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.

T Berry was advised to exercise more care.

HORSE OF FORTUNE was badly held up for a run from after passing the 200 Metres until near the 100 Metres at which time the horse was shifted to the inside of BEAUTY GENERATION to obtain clear running.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GIANT TREASURE had sustained a small cut to the left hip and that HELENE PARAGON had sustained wounds to the back of the left hind leg.

A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL TRINITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
