Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (17) - DEEP WATER BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
GOLDFIELD shifted out at the start and hampered LUCKY GIRL.
SKY MELODY was bumped by LAND GRANT which shifted out on jumping.
From wide barriers, HAPPY LIFE and MCQUEEN were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, HAPPY SPIRIT failed to muster speed.
Approaching the 1500 Metres, LUCKY GIRL shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of GOLDFIELD which became unbalanced.
After the 1200 Metres, LUCKY GIRL was left racing wide and without cover.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, HAPPY SPIRIT got its head on the side, lay in and made contact with the hindquarters of HAPPY LIFE which became unbalanced.
In this incident, HAPPY LIFE shifted out, resulting in HAPPY SPIRIT racing tight between that horse and LUCKY GIRL.
At the entrance to the Straight, CLOUD NINE shifted out and bumped SKY MELODY, causing both horses to become unbalanced.
Near the 250 Metres, HAPPY LIFE was shifted to the outside of CLOUD NINE after being disappointed for running inside that horse.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY GIRL and MULTIGOGO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SKY MELODY and CLOUD NINE were sent for sampling.

Favourite Sky Melody took control 60m out travelling one off worse than midfield in a suitably run race. He has the tools to head higher. Specked late Cloud Nine stuck on well following a prominent run to overhaul leader Land Grant in deep stretch for second. Land Grant was on his tippy toes 100m out after setting good fractions in front. His gate speed will always be an asset over this course. McQueen closed well from the rear of the field after missing the kick from a wide gate. He's a winner waiting to happen if he can find his way into Class Four. Thunder Stomp came up flat following a box-seat run. He might be on his mark following a successful campaign last season. Multigogo folded after punching the breeze near the speed from a wide gate. He's more effective hugging the fence. Forget Lucky Girl's run. He was left without cover the entire trip travelling behind midfield following a tardy break.
