Regency Bo Bo staved off a challenge by post-time favourite Morethanlucky after finding the front 900m out to score for a fifth time from 25 starts despite a stable change. He's tough as nails to get by over this trip. Morethanlucky stayed on nicely travelling one-off in midfield to just miss. He'll come on for this run and will be hard to beat over a more suitable 1,600m. Fast Most Furious closed well for a placing after settling deep with cover worse than midfield. He's quite progressive and goes equally if not better at the Valley. Joyful Trinity finished well near the inside after settling one from the back from gate 14. He's not the soundest of runners but if he pulls up well, he clearly has the ability to win a race in this grade. Both newcomers Mr So And So and Volpino finished off well from the second half of the field. They're promising sorts with good overseas form and will be better suited at a mile and possibly 1,800m.

Race Ten: (46) - WASHINGTON D.C.

HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

VOLPINO began only fairly.

MORETHANLUCKY and CITRON SPIRIT began awkwardly.

REGENCY BO BO lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently began only fairly.

MR SO AND SO, PIKACHU and JOYFUL TRINITY were steadied in the early stages from wide barriers and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, CALIFORNIA JOY failed to muster speed and after the 900 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 1100 Metres, MR SO AND SO commenced to prove difficult to settle and then making the turn after the 900 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of FAST MOST FURIOUS when continuing to prove difficult to settle.

JOYFUL TRINITY, which was following MR SO AND SO, got its head up when awkwardly placed behind that horse approaching the 800 Metres.

Near the 1050 Metres, CITRON SPIRIT was steadied away from the heels of PEOPLE'S KNIGHT which was also being steadied to obtain cover.

Approaching the 1000 Metres, MORETHANLUCKY raced tight inside FAST MOST FURIOUS which was being shifted in to obtain cover behind MAGIC LEGEND.

As a result of MORETHANLUCKY improving its position inside FAST MOST FURIOUS, that horse was unable to shift in behind MAGIC LEGEND and was subsequently steadied approaching the 900 Metres to obtain cover behind ALMABABY.

Approaching the 600 Metres, MR SO AND SO and PEOPLE'S KNIGHT raced tight.

Then passing the 500 Metres, MR SO AND SO and PEOPLE'S KNIGHT again raced tight as MR SO AND SO was shifted to the outside of FAST MOST FURIOUS after being awkwardly placed behind that horse.

CITRON SPIRIT, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of MR SO AND SO in consequence.

Passing the 300 Metres, PIKACHU was steadied when disappointed for running between SUPER TURBO and VOLPINO which was racing tight inside JOYFUL TRINITY.

PIKACHU then had difficulty obtaining clear running until passing the 200 Metres.

VOLPINO was held up for clear running approaching and passing the 200 Metres.

Over the final 200 Metres, FAST MOST FURIOUS lay in under pressure.

Approaching the 100 Metres, CITRON SPIRIT was hampered when crowded for room inside MR SO AND SO (G van Niekerk) which shifted in under pressure.

G van Niekerk was reprimanded and told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground.

Over the concluding stages, CIRCUIT HASSLER was steadied when racing in restricted room between SUPER TURBO and VOLPINO which improved to be racing tight inside the heels of JOYFUL TRINITY which shifted in marginally.

A veterinary inspection of MAGIC LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of CALIFORNIA JOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

REGENCY BO BO and MORETHANLUCKY were sent for sampling.

Omission from Racing Incidents Report of 12 September 2018 Happy Valley Racemeeting - Race 7 (35) Passing the 400 Metres, SPEEDY KING blundered when racing tight outside the heels of BEAUTY LOYAL.

After the running of Race 4, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Firm?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 4 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm??
