Horses to follow don't come much more obvious than Honest Horse and the big gelding goes into the black bookers for a Sha Tin win on the weekend that certainly will not be his last.

In his trials, Honest Horse had shown excellent gate speed and did again on race day to bowl to the front and just improved his position from there, running strong times and sectionals along the way.

Although it is easy to query the horses he beat this time as nothing special, he was at least a class apart from them as he cleared out and put a big space on them.

What is really to like about Honest Horse is that he has the long stride and lovely gait of a good racehorse, one who will clearly stretch to longer distances. His breeding and manner suggest it and it was interesting to hear Chad Schofield suggest the gelding gave him the feel of a very good miler.

It may be too ambitious to suggest him as a possible Classic Mile runner, but the race is still more than two months away and the 13 points he was raised for this win will help, especially if he wins the same way again next time in Class Three. Sillier things have happened.

A nice debut too in that race from Who Else But You, who didn't get to show the gate speed he had displayed at the trials when he was cleaned up at the start of the race.

That placed him right out the back of the race with a lot to do on the home turn, a forlorn venture when your leader is running home as strongly as Honest Horse did.

However, Who Else But You produced the best final sectional in the race and he might have been a clear second had the Paul O'Sullivan debutant bounced out with the leaders as most expected.

As we know, O'Sullivan's horses come on greatly for their first run as a rule and the international sale griffin by star sire Commands won't have to come on much to be a winner soon.
