Recap by phillip woo
Blastoise just held off Vincy for the win after hitting the front 250m out following a boxseat run. It was a superb ride by apprentice Jerry Chau Chun-lok who didn't panic when headed for the lead by Cheerful Leader 1,500m out. Early favourite Vincy was closing with every stride to just miss after his usual patient ride towards the rear. He's racing very well but can't score that elusive win. London Hall just edged Stimulation for third after settling midfield on the fence. It was an honest effort carrying more weight following a last-start win. Stimulation came from last to fill the frame. Post-time favourite God Of Dragon gradually faded over the final 150m out after getting left without cover chasing the speed despite a good draw. He had an excuse. Cheerful Leader didn't get the trip after rushing to the lead 1,500m out. You can forget the run of Clement Legend who was caught without cover in midfield.
