Recap by phillip woo
In no hurry, Super Wealthy came from last to overhaul raging favourite Cordyceps Six 50m out for a repeat win in the National Day Cup. He's very honest and was desperately unlucky on opening day. Cordyceps Six stayed on a clear second after hitting the front 150m out travelling midfield on the far side from a low draw in a compact race. He will come on for the run. Sky Field stayed on gamely for a placing in a rare speed-chasing role carrying top weight. He's a genuine sprinter. Lucky Patch came from near last to just edge Master Eight for fourth. He's better suited over 1,200m. Master Eight came up one-paced when asked for an effort chasing the speed near the grandstand side. He needed the run but has been underwhelming after winning his first five of 10 starts. Stronger never landed a blow travelling one from the rear. He's not easy to get right but the big weight did not help. Specked late Harmony And Rich faded after rolling to the lead as expected 800m out. He requires rating relief and is Happy Valley horse.
