South African trainer Tony Millard crowned one of the highlight afternoons of his career at Sha Tin with a Group Three Hong Kong Macau Trophy win for pint-sized, unassuming bargain buy, Super Lifeline.

Suspensions and the presence of Joao Moreira had eaten into the productivity of Karis Teetan of late but the Mauritian bounced back from his mid-season flat spot with his first treble, including what he felt was a key victory for leading trainer John Size.

Trainer Tony Millard credited Ambitious Dragon's owner Johnson Lam Pui-hung with a turnaround in the stable fortunes and repaid him by getting Ambitious Champion past the post for his maiden local victory.

Ambitious Champion had only a short head to spare as it rained winners for Millard, following a month without a victory.

The local horses have generally had the wood on the visitors in a decade of the $2 million Hong Kong Macau Trophy (1,400m) and rarely has there been a horse looking as well suited to the event as Super Lifeline.

A stable mix-up has resulted in trainer Tony Millard being fined HK$30,000 after a mafoo applied ice to the legs of Bear Elite within two hours of a race, breaching the rules and resulting in the horse being scratched last Sunday.
