Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (107)-SHRIKE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Metres
IMPERIAL SEAL was withdrawn on 15.10.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CIRCUIT FORTUNE (Apprentice H T Mo).Before being allowed to race again, IMPERIAL SEAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
On arrival at the Start, M Chadwick expressed concern regarding the action of ROYAL SPIRIT.
ROYAL SPIRIT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who found the horse to be lame in its right front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race.
Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ROYAL SPIRIT.
Before being allowed to race again, ROYAL SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
AMAZING ALWAYS shifted out at the start and bumped UNICRON JEWELLERY, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced.
GORGEOUS AGAIN and INVENTION MASTER bumped at the start.
Shortly after the start, BLAZING PASS and RED HORSE bumped.
Making the first turn near the 900 Metres, COOL AND NEAT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of INVENTION MASTER.
UNICRON JEWELLERY was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight when attempting to improve between RED HORSE and XINJIANG YARN where there was insufficient room.
VICTORY MASTER was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Approaching the 150 Metres, XINJIANG YARN was hampered when taken in by INVENTION MASTER (J Moreira) which shifted ground before being corrected by its rider.
J Moreira was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to react quicker to his mounts shifting ground than he did on this occasion.
Approaching the 100 Metres, Z Purton, the rider of TRAVEL AMBASSADOR, was obliged to stop riding his mount due to being awkwardly placed close to the heels of UNICRON JEWELLERY.
Over the concluding stages, UNICRON JEWELLERY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of INVENTION MASTER.
For the majority of the race, CIRCUIT FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover.
INVENTION MASTER lost its left front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection of COOL AND NEAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
INVENTION MASTER, VICTORY MASTER and XINJIANG YARN were sent for sampling.

Old-timer Victory Master responded nicely to get up 100m out to land a betting move after a well-executed ride to settle box-seat from a tricky gate. He's racing in good spirits and should remain competitive following a likely five or six point penalty. Xinjiang Yarn stayed on well for second following a prominent run from an outside gate despite interference from the favourite Invention Master 200m out. Bleeder Invention Master peaked on his run 100m out after hitting the front 250m out following a midfield run. He might prefer softer going on the dirt or the more forgiving Valley course. Newcomer Unicron Jewellery just failing to get up for a placing following a handy. He appears to have a bright future. Blazing Pass ran on late down the outside after travelling second from the rear. He's running well but isn't good enough in this grade.
