Gonna Run settled close than usual behind midfield along the fence from a better gate and quickened very well after switching off heels 250m out to snatch victory close to home. He has either won or finished off the board in four of his 19 starts but is certainly capable on his day. Brett Prebble executed perfectly on Solar Hei Hei who found the front 250m out following a midfield run but found one just too good on the day. He's come right at his third outing this term and remains a live chance when next stepping out over this trip or 1,800m. Circuit Land finished strongly after travelling fourth from the rear to make it a blanket on the wire. The massive swing in the weights was the difference between winning and losing. Super Lifeline wouldn't fold without a fight after pressing forward from a wide gate to park outside the leader.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (218)-THE CHEVALIER CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1600Metres

J Moreira (HARBOUR MASTER) was fined $2,000 for failing to initially weigh out with a girth.

PRECISION KING was crowded for room on jumping between SUPER LIFELINE and FRIENDS OF KA YING which shifted out.

In this incident, SUPER LIFELINE became unbalanced after being bumped by PRECISION KING.

ALL YOU WISH and PHOTON WILLIE were steadied across behind runners in the early stages.

After initially being hard ridden in the early stages in an attempt to obtain a forward position, CIRCUIT HASSLER was shifted across behind runners to find cover after the 1400 Metres, however, was unable to obtain cover and raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 1300 Metres, CIRCUIT HASSLER was bumped by CIRCUIT LAND which was taken out by SERGEANT TITANIUM.

Approaching the 1100 Metres, PHOTON WILLIE got its head up when travelling keenly.

Approaching the 800 Metres, RENAISSANCE ART was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CIRCUIT HASSLER.

ALL YOU WISH was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Approaching the 300 Metres, GONNA RUN, which was inclined to lay in, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRECISION KING (Apprentice H T Mo) which was giving ground.

Apprentice Mo was severely reprimanded regarding the amount of whip he used on PRECISION KING when that horse was clearly out of contention.

When questioned, Z Purton (RENAISSANCE ART) stated that in the early part of the Straight he rode his mount along to improve between PHOTON WILLIE and CIRCUIT HASSLER when racing behind CIRCUIT LAND.

He aid CIRCUIT LAND sprinted well in the early part of the Straight and he was not able to quicken with that horse.

He said PHOTON WILLIE, which was racing to the inside of RENAISSANCE ART, also quickened at this time and established a margin over RENAISSANCE ART.

He said PHOTON WILLIE then commenced to lay out under pressure and he felt that had he have continued to ride RENAISSANCE ART along, PHOTON WILLIE may shift out and as RENAISSANCE ART was not travelling well at this time, he elected to steady his mound and directed it to the inside of PHOTON WILLIE into clear running.

Z Purton was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he must ride his mounts to ensure that they are able to maintain their positions where circumstances permit.

A veterinary inspection of RENAISSANCE ART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of PRECISION KING immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

GONNA RUN and SOLAR HEI HEI were sent for sampling.
