Recap by phillip woo

Starlot came with a bold move to get up in deep stretch after being ridden for luck at the back from a middle gate to notch a second win over this Valley trip after joining the Paul O'Sullivan yard in March. Nashashuk ran on well after settling fourth along the fence following a sluggish break. He is well rated on a past win over this trip and has nothing on his back. Favourite Gouten Of Garo didn't get an easy time in front and was on his tippy toes 50m out after kicking two lengths clear soon after straightening. Leisured Feet came up one-paced over the final 100m after rolling forward from a wide gate to press the leader. It was another honest effort but he keeps finding a few too good. Fire And Gold made a decent bid down the outside after travelling second from the rear. He's nothing special and was already fitter for two runs. Well-backed late, Keep Going found next to nothing following a prominent run with cover. He continues to disappoint.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (78) - NIIGATA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

KEEP GOING jumped in at the start and made contact with FOX CHEUNGER which in turn shifted in and bumped heavily with NASHASHUK which lost ground when tightened onto the hindquarters of OPEN HOUSE which became unbalanced.

From a wide barrier, MY DEAR was steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

LA BOMBA was inclined to lay out making the first turn near the 1000 Metres.

LEISURED FEET (C Y Ho) raced wide and without cover until approaching the 600 Metres at which stage it shifted in across LA BOMBA when not quite clear.

C Y Ho was advised to ensure that he provides sufficient clearance when shifting ground.

RED BRICK FIGHTER was left racing wide and without cover from the 600 Metres and then was inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the Straight.

KEEP GOING made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly.

Passing the 500 Metres, FOX CHEUNGER shifted out and made contact with FIRE AND GOLD.

Rounding the Home Turn, KEEP GOING was awkwardly placed behind LA BOMBA which commenced to give ground.

A veterinary inspection of LA BOMBA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of OPEN HOUSE immediately following the race revealed the horse to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, OPEN HOUSE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GOUTEN OF GARO, STARLOT and NASHASHUK were sent for sampling.
