Recap by phillip woo

Post-time favourite Leisured Feet got up in the final few strides following a box-seat run to edge leader King Mortar for the win. He had been in the mix in three other starts and took full advantage of a good draw. King Mortar kept on gamely after being hustled out wide to lead outright 800m out. It was a return to form with a step back in distance. Kwai Chung Elite got up along the inside for third, though was short of room late, after travelling third last following a slow break. Fire And Gold ran on steadily to nearly place after a one-off run in midfield. He's starting to get the hang of things in recent runs. Well-backed late Surewin came up one-paced over the last 300m after peeling out three-deep entering the final bend following a prominent run. The 1,200m is too sharp. Farm Bumper came up one-paced over the last 150m tracking the speed. Adonis ran on late down the outside but got too far back from a wide gate. He might be worth a try over the 1,400m.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (141) - L'OREAL PARIS HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

KWAI CHUNG ELITE, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.

Before being allowed to race again, KWAI CHUNG ELITE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

LEISURED FEET began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped SUREWIN.

NASHASHUK began only fairly.

From wide barriers, MY DEAR, ADONIS and MONEY WINNER were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

When being steadied passing the 900 Metres to allow KING MORTAR to cross, FARM BUMPER commenced to travel keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions.

After the 800 Metres, YEE CHEONG LUCKY was left racing wide and without cover.

At the 600 Metres, FIRE AND GOLD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUREWIN.

ADONIS got its head on the side and lay out rounding the Home Turn.

After the 400 Metres, MY DEAR was brushed by FIRE AND GOLD which shifted to the outside of YEE CHEONG LUCKY.

NASHASHUK, which was following MY DEAR, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence.

After the 300 Metres, STARLOT had difficulty obtaining clear running and when held up for running approaching and passing the 100 Metres was then checked when crowded for room near the 50 Metres between FARM BUMPER which shifted in slightly and KWAI CHUNG ELITE (A Badel) which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING MORTAR.

A Badel was told to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing inconvenience to other runners.

Then over the concluding stages, KWAI CHUNG ELITE remained racing close to the heels of KING MORTAR and consequently was not able to be properly tested.

Approaching the 200 Metres, SUREWIN momentarily raced in restricted room between FARM BUMPER and YEE CHEONG LUCKY.

A veterinary inspection of STARLOT and NASHASHUK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LEISURED FEET and KING MORTAR were sent for sampling.
