Recap by phillip woo

Naboo Star quickened well to get up near the 50m following a rail run in midfield to open his win account at start nine. He's not reliable but has always shown the ability to do this. Forever Bright found one too good after rolling to the lead near the 150m following a dream run in the box-seat. It was a vastly-improved effort on his three earlier starts. Punted late City Legend closed well from behind midfield to fill a placing in a pleasing first appearance at the Valley. He continues to race well without winning. Firming to jump second favourite Flame Lily came up one-paced after a well-executed ride one-out, oneback from a wide gate. Casa De Forca gave way 100m out after getting pestered for the lead to his outside by Multimax. President Star ran on steadily without menacing following a one-off run in midfield from a wide gate. Magnetism got too far back from an awkward gate. The biased for speed condition went against him.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (184) - HIBISCUS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

MANAGEMENT STAR was slow to begin.

DASHING DART began awkwardly and lost ground.

MAGNETISM shifted in at the start and bumped ENJOY LIFE.

After this, MAGNETISM was steadied to obtain cover.

From the outside barrier, TURF BRILLIANT was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.

MULTIMAX, which was travelling keenly, made the turn after the 1000 Metres awkwardly and shifted out.

As MULTIMAX shifted back in to race outside the lead after the 900 Metres, FLAME LILY was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse.

Passing the 500 Metres, MANAGEMENT STAR and CITY LEGEND bumped.

Passing the 100 Metres, CITY LEGEND raced tight outside CASA DE FORCA which shifted out.

When questioned regarding the performance of ENJOY LIFE, U Rispoli stated that after shifting the horse across behind runners in the early stages, ENJOY LIFE travelled satisfactorily until after the 800 Metres at which time the horse immediately came under pressure.

He said he had to ride ENJOY LIFE along vigorously in an attempt to maintain its position behind DASHING DART, however, ENJOY LIFE did not respond to his riding and was most disappointing in the manner in which it did not improve its position rounding the Home Turn and then gave ground noticeably in the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of ENJOY LIFE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of ENJOY LIFE, which finished towards the rear of the field and which finished second at its most recent start, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, ENJOY LIFE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MULTIMAX immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CASA DE FORCA, NABOO STAR and FOREVER BRIGHT ere sent for sampling.
