Last Kingdom was on his tippy toes but just held on for the win after straightening three lengths on top in a well-rated ride by Lyle Hewitson. Rookie trainer Douglas Whyte has done a terrific job to produce a mile win once on each surface. Plunged late Travel First closed with every stride after a four wide and without cover run to make it close on the wire. Righteous Doctrine flashed home to make it close on the wire after straightening five deep following a patient ride fourth from the rear as the late-fancied favourite. Volpino ran on well after a deep run with cover behind midfield but was never going to catch the top three. Well-backed Happy Sebring made headway late near the inside after making his run third from the rear following a typical slow start. Enfolding spotted them too much of a head start from a wide draw. Early favourite Holy Heart produced only a grinding effort after travelling five back on the fence. He needs a fast track.

Race Ten: (293) - PAK TAM CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

B Shinn (SACRED IBIS) was fined the sum of $3,000 for initially weighing out without a surcingle which required his saddle to be returned from the saddling area in order for him to be re-weighed.

HOLY HEART lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently lost ground.

HOLY HEART was then steadied away from the heels of RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE which began awkwardly and shifted in.

From wide barriers, ENFOLDING, HAPPY SEBRING and SACRED IBIS were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, ENFOLDING was awkwardly placed outside the heels of RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE.

Passing the 1200 Metres, ENFOLDING was awkwardly placed inside the heels of RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE.

RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Near the 100 Metres, HOLY HEART was shifted to the outside of ENDEARING after being disappointed for running to the inside of that horse.

For the majority of the race, GENERAL DINO and TRAVEL FIRST travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, C Schofield was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of DEAL MAKER.

A veterinary inspection of DEAL MAKER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of HOLY HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of MONGOLIAN LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE, LAST KINGDOM and TRAVEL FIRST were sent for sampling.
