Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (22) - CHEONG WAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
FELIX THE KING began awkwardly.
BOYS PARTY shifted in abruptly at the start and bumped G ONE EXCELLENT.
From wide barriers, EL JEFE and ALL IS READY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When being ridden along passing the 1200 Metres, BEST FOR YOU shifted out and bumped ALL IS READY.
Near the 1050 Metres, AMAZING NEWS was steadied away from the heels of OH BRAVO which was eased to obtain a trailing position behind HAPPY GATHERING.
After the 1000 Metres, MANY WINS was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 900 Metres, AMAZING NEWS was awkwardly placed behind OH BRAVO.
After this, AMAZING NEWS continued to travel close to the heels of OH BRAVO and near the 750 Metres was steadied from behind that horse.
Approaching the 700 Metres, BEST FOR YOU commenced to travel keenly and was checked away from the heels of FELIX THE KING.
Passing the 400 Metres, AMAZING NEWS was steadied away from the heels of MANY WINS when attempting to shift to the outside of that horse which was commencing to give ground.
At the entrance to the Straight, BOYS PARTY raced close to the heels of SEA MONARCH when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.
BOYS PARTY was again shifted out away from the heels of SEA MONARCH after the 350 Metres which got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.
Approaching the 200 Metres, GIVE WAY PLEASE raced tight outside the heels of OH BRAVO.
Passing the 100 Metres, OH BRAVO was awkwardly placed outside HAPPY GATHERING which shifted out marginally under pressure.
After the race, M Chadwick reported that SEA MONARCH was reluctant to stretch out in today's race and may not have handled the "Good to Firm??track.
A veterinary inspection of SEA MONARCH immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained multiple wounds to the left hind leg.
Before being allowed to race again, SEA MONARCH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of AMAZING NEWS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
G ONE EXCELLENT, CHIU CHOW BROTHER and U W BROTHER were sent for sampling.

Punted late Chiu Chow Brother wore down U W Brother just inside the 100m to claim a maiden success at his 13th start following a speed-tracking run. It was clearly his best run to date. U W Brother gave a cheeky sight in front leading from a wide draw. It was a vastly-improved effort after struggling in a past 1,400m performance. Supported late in betting, Boys Party came from midfield to just edge favourite G-One Excellent for third. It was an improved effort following stable change. G One Excellent had his chance after a prominent run along the fence. It was another honest effort. El Jefe made some ground late down the outside travelling last from a wide draw. He requires a faster pace and should find his mark shortly in this grade. Best For You made some ground without ever looking a threat near the inside after a patient ride two from the back. He appeared to need the run. Well-backed Amazing News made only a mild bid after biding his time three from the rear. He's not easy to get right. Sea Monarch tamely faded over the last 150m after working hard deep on the speed from an awkward gate.
