Recap by phillip woo

Judy's Great just got the better of Smart Folks after poking his head in front near the 100m following a wide with cover run from midfield to win with a switch to the dirt after failing on his Valley debut last month. Smart Folks nearly prevailed, leading at the head of the straight after being hard ridden the entire way to chase the speed three wide without cover from gate 10. It was a much-improved effort after a dull display last Sunday. Flying Dragon kept on gamely to just miss after a one-off run with covering chasing the leading pair. He's racing well without winning on both surfaces. Punted late Euro Rocks just won a blanket finish for fourth after improving from near last from the 800m. He has the tools to win shortly at this level on either surface. Speedy Smartie stayed on reasonably well from better than midfield and one off the fence. It was a better performance with a switch to the dirt. Panda Legend made ground from behind midfield to nearly take fifth. It was an improved effort for his new trainer after a debut failure on turf.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five : (217) - MIDDLE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 EURO ROCKS (H153) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly, got its head up and as a result lost ground.

Horse No 2 GREENWICH (H328) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount did not appreciate racing in behind the lead after the pace steadied mid-race and has performed best when being able to dictate in front in its races.

Trainer P C Ng agreed with the views expressed by Jockey Purton and stated that the horse was disadvantaged when the pace of the event steadied in the middle stages and was unable to quicken when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, GREENWICH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 EVERYONE'S VICTORY (E177) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 600 Metres was steadied when crowded between DAN ATTACK and SMILING COLLECTOR.
