TROUBLE IN RUNNING

JUNEAU PRIDE (J443) rider reported that he was instructed not to make too much use of the horse in the early stages to ensure it was able to finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight. He said when his mount jumped only fairly it did not show early pace, particularly with the hood being applied for the first time and as a result he elected to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued - Race 168.

EVERYONE'S STAR (K172) near the 600M was steadied - Race 207.

STAR RISE (K516) between the 400M and the 100M was held up for clear running - Race 206.

CHARMING LEGEND (K127) after the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 786.

LUCKY MY WAY (K146) jumped awkwardly - Race 207.

STANLEY EXPRESS (K476) bumped at the start. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Trainer confirmed the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages to offset the wide barrier. Raced keenly in the middle stages and for some distance approaching the 700M got its head up when positioned close to heels - Race 206.

RISING FROM ASHES (G209) shortly after the start was checked when crowded. Following the race was found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported - Race 233.

ONE MORE (K261) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 121.

NOT USUAL PICK (K568) bumped at the start. Bumped after travelling a short distance. Lay in on the first turn after being crossed - Race 176.

SMART AVENUE (K474) jumped awkwardly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the concluding stages when racing tight - Race 202.

SIX PACK (K061) bumped near the 300M - Race 226.

IGOR STRAVINSKY (K086) jumped awkwardly, shifted out and made contact with a runner. Near the 100M became unbalanced - Race 206.
