A gunman opened fire at two Christchurch mosques on March 15, 2019, killing 50 people in a live-streamed terror attack. The attacker, who identified himself as Brenton Tarrant, is a 28-year-old Australian self-described fascist and white supremacist who reportedly published a racist manifesto on social media before the mass shootings.
