PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE

Scotch Tycoon just got up from midfield to win a good-form race up in grade when trying the 1,200m in March. That was a third win from four straight Valley starts and he covered too much ground in a last-start defeat. If he can offset the wide gate it wouldn't surprise to see him bounce back to winning ways. Drops Of God had filled the frame twice in November over this C&D and appears from a recent second behind the exciting Sakewin to have recovered fully from a swollen leg injury in December. He'll have Zac Purton to offset gate 10 and will go close. Flaming Passion hasn't quite taken the next step after back-to-back C&D wins in Class Four but has still stayed on well for placings in four of his past six starts in this grade and is drawn to get every chance. Racing Fighter has shown a bit more spark in a couple of his past three runs and is rated 22 points below a win last season over this C&D. He's a place roughie.
