TROUBLE IN RUNNING

HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) after being placed in the starting gates got its head under the starting gates and became cast. Was removed from the barriers and was reported by the vet who said the horse was not suitable to race. Was withdrawn by order of the Stewards on vet advice. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 371.

FASHION LEGEND (J080) rider stated that he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as it has a tendency to race keenly. He said as a result from his wide barrier he shifted the horse behind runners in the early stages to comply with his instructions. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 371.

RISING ELITE (K544) jumped only fairly - Race 369.

CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) held up for clear running between the 500M and the 400M - Race 371.

BULL ATTITUDE (K305) on jumping was bumped on the hindquarters - Race 418.

LESLIE (E471) shifted out on jumping and was bumped. Approaching the 350M improved into a tight run and as a result made contact with a runner- Race 371.

FIREFOOT (J183) when questioned rider stated that near the 600M he elected to shift to a one-off position to follow a runner. He said as he did so his mount commenced to race keenly and as a result he was obliged to take hold to avoid the heels of that runner which resulted in his mount shifting out and making contact with another runner. He added when he was satisfied there was then sufficient room to improve between those runners he then placed his mount under pressure to obtain that position - Race 370.

MANAGEMENT FOLKS (E496) jumped only fairly and then was crowded - Race 346.
