Beauty Loyal was only out-finished by Monica after being caught deep without cover early on latest over this C&D. He must have claims. Gift Of Lifeline has followed up a win with late bursts for close thirds in his past two runs over the Valley 1,200m and should appreciate the extra 200m here in his Sha Tin debut on the turf. The penny has finally dropped with Intrepic who's shown a differing run style to figure highly in back-to-back C&D runs from wide gates under Joao Moreira. He's one for the short list. Chiu Chow Kid was hard to fault in his opening nine starts this term, including two 1,600m wins, and has been giving some time off following a dull Valley run in March. He can't be forgotten.

BEAUTY LOYAL (B383)at the start was inconvenienced Near the 1100M raced in restricted room Near the 950M, whilst being steadied to obtain cover, was momentarily awkwardly placed outside heels - Race 688 GIFT OF LIFELINE (C172)on jumping shifted out, made heavy contact with a runner and became unbalanced Then failed to muster speed despite being hard ridden Making the turn after the 600M raced tight Then near the 500M shifted in and bumped a runner which resulted in the horse becoming unbalanced and then shifting out towards heels - Race 607 THE CREATETH (A336)in the Straight lay in under pressure - Race 707 GREAT TREASURE (T380)when questioned, rider stated that near the 850M the horse was crowded for room He said after that the horse got its head on the side and lay out and he was very awkwardly placed inside heels He said he called on a number of occasions in the middle stages to ensure that other riders were aware of his position as the horse was awkwardly placed He said because a runner was shifting out, he attempted to shift to the outside of that runner to obtain clear running rounding the Home Turn, however, another runner improved its position to be racing tight outside the horse and he was therefore not able to shift to the outside of the former runner at that stage He added as he was attempting to shift to the outside of that runner, the winner was then able to improve its position to be racing between the horse and a runner Rider was advised that the Stewards accepted that the horse was laying out approaching and passing the 600M which placed it in an awkward position, however, he was told to ensure that he maintains his position wherever circumstances permit - Race 692 RELENTLESS ME (A178)after passing the winning post on the first occasion was left racing wide and without cover and from the 1100M was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead after the 900M - Race 661 INTREPIC (A139)rider stated that despite riding his mount aggressively for some distance in the early stages, it did not show the same speed as it did last start when it was able to be ridden in a forward position He said when it became apparent that the horse was not going to be able to take up a prominent position as intended, he shifted it across behind runners to obtain cover He said despite being ridden much further back in the field than had been intended, the horse still finished off the race well - Race 705 VICTORY IN HAND (C103)began awkwardly and got its head on the side, shifted out and was steadied away from heels - Race 685 ONE STEP AHEAD (C242)began only fairly and then was bumped Approaching the 1000M raced tight and lost its left hind plate Near the 750M shifted out when travelling keenly and very awkwardly placed close to heels Over the last 150M raced tight Then close to the finishing line was bumped - Race 668 HAPPY PROJECT (C189)began awkwardly, resulted in its rider becoming unbalanced Passing the 900M became unbalanced of its own accord and lost ground - Race 523
