PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Francis Meynell has trended the right way in his past three starts following a return to 1,400m, including a recent second to King Dance after leading 80m out from better than midfield. He's drawn to get every chance from gate three. Chill Partners built on 1,200m second in February with a box-seat win despite gate 11 over 1,400m before getting no favours in a defeat from gate 13. He's capable of better but will need luck from gate 12. The All Rounder proved a box seat second at $42 following a gear change was no fluke in early-March with a rallying sixth and third in back-to-back runs ridden back from wide draws. He should map closer in the run from gate five. Voyage Boss has stayed on for minor cheques in six of seven 1,200m runs across both tracks this term and looks ready to retackle 1,400m after making headway late for fourth to Gold Patch ridden just off midfield last start from gate 14.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
CHARMING BABE (J513) shortly after the start was crowded - Race 553.
CHILL PARTNERS (K484) rider stated that from his wide barrier he was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result his mount could not finish the race off in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 539.
BUCEPHALAS (K096) bumped at the start. Leaving the 1100M made contact with a runner. Rider stated that after holding an on-pace position his mount gave ground noticeably near the 200M but could offer no excuse for the performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 535.
LET'S HAVE FUN (L118) jumped only fairly. Between the 450M and the 400M was held up for clear running. Approaching the 250M became badly unbalanced when being severely checked. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 577.
POLAR PATCH (L211) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 538.
DASHING PEACH (L066) raced keenly in the middle stages. Over the concluding stages was hampered. Noted to have blood in its mouth after the race - Race 459.
DECISION LINK (K416) jumped only fairly - Race 585.
PROUD BOX (K487) near the 350M endeavoured to obtain a run where there was not sufficient room to do so. As a result was checked and made contact with a runner when disappointed for that run - Race 521.
SUPER MASTERMIND (K541) jumped awkwardly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 560.
THE ALL ROUNDER (K402) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For a short distance near the 400M had some difficulty obtaining clear running - Race 555.
YOUNG LEGACY (K465) jumped only fairly. Hung in under pressure in the Home Straight - Race 559.
THE ABSOLUTE (H438) shifted out on jumping and was bumped - Race 535.
GORGEOUS VICTORY (L087) shifted in shortly after the start, was bumped and became unbalanced - Race 598.
